This comment is from the writings of candace Jones, in reference to her thoughts about the annual Women Support Women Conference... A good read!
“The Retreat sponsored by Gee... You Will is a conference that offers women of various social groups and ages a time to come together and find out that we all have more in common than we have differences. Women meet in a rustic setting ,that due to the nature of the location, brings everyone to an even ground where comfort is found not in the amenities of where we are, but in the commonality of what we share simply as women. I as well as others have experienced women who may never have crossed paths except for this opportunity and they find that there is beauty in simply being.”
“It is here where women can let down their guard and try things such as belly dancing, jewelry making, meditation and a variety of things that they would never have experienced except at this conference. Women tell stories that are funny and self revealing and self healing. There has been a wealth of information via workshops that have touched the core of some wounded women's hearts ( me for one) . There have been exercises of self esteem building and breast cancer awareness and they experience sharing in an environment that lends itself to trust. Not only do women partake in healing, informative and dynamic workshops but they can experience good food and exceptional camaraderie.”
“Thanks to sponsorship from the Delaware Commission for Women, this conference is one that should be classified as a totally healing adventure that offers exceptional fun, exceptional food, exceptional planning/organizing for the event and profound caring of one another but most of all a place where women can come and escape and realize we as women are simply the best thing God ever created.”
